After years of fans asking me about my short but memorable stint in the professional LA porn industry, I’ve decided it’s finally time to share the story. It was a whirlwind chapter of my life filled with unexpected friendships, hard lessons, and moments of self-discovery. While brief, those experiences left a lasting impression on me and shaped the performer and content creator I am today.
I’ll be sharing this journey in three parts, giving you an honest and unfiltered look at what it was like to step into this scintillating world. From my first connections at a Vegas convention to navigating the challenges of early gigs and finding my footing in Burbank, this is a story of discovery and growth. So, let’s go back to where it all began—Vegas, 2008.
Meeting a Canadian Friend in Vegas
While attending the 2008 AVN convention in Las Vegas, I met a Canadian woman who was part of the industry. I remember thinking she must be lonely for female Canuck companionship. She kindly invited me to stay with her and her husband in LA, offering their couch as my temporary base of operations. I happily accepted.
The next couple weeks where a whirlwind, and I definitely had no idea what I was in for. Sometimes whirlwinds can be a good thing.
Welcomed into the Porn Community
This was my second year exploring the adult industry, and I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the community was. Directors and companies expressed interest in working with me, but none offered extravagant gestures like flying me to LA. My advice to newcomers: always decline such offers, as diabolical strings are almost always attached.
Initially, I chose to embark on this journey under my own power and recognizance, which gave me a sense of independence and control. And boy was I ever glad I came to that epiphany earlier than most.
Falling in Love with Los Angeles
From my first day walking to a local coffee shop in Burbank, I knew I had found my happy place. The people were warm and friendly. One memorable moment involved a soap opera star from The Young and the Restless mistaking me for someone he knew. He hugged me warmly, smelling of booze and cologne—a story I couldn’t wait to share with a friend back home who adored the show.
As much as it’s known for grittiness, and crime/grime, and broken dreams – I loved my visits. That may have changed quickly if I’d ever relocated permanently, but regardless – I love LA.
My First (Professional) Hardcore Scene
Dan’s wife (the Canadian woman I stayed with) introduced me to my first hardcore scene in LA. It was for a series called Exploited Moms, alongside Sledgehammer. She assured me that despite his size, he was gentle – and she was right.
The director’s approach was laid-back: “Do what comes naturally, and I’ll shoot around you.” While most of the shoot felt natural, one position required some serious acting skills on my part. It’s the one that rhymes with “froggy”, and his size was a bit of a challenge. Turning discomfort into performance? That’s called professionalism!
He was a genuinely nice guy, a wonderful first professional costar, and I was sorry to hear of his passing. Godspeed, Sledge!
Navigating Agents and Early Gigs
Dan’s wife also connected me with a mature porn actress turned agent who booked my first solo shoot for Aunt Judy’s site. It was a long, solo scene which lasted a day for just $300. After an error on her part during our second collaboration, I decided to part ways with her.
Thankfully, Dan introduced me to Jim South of World Modeling – a true godsend. His charming Southern drawl always made me smile. Jim secured my first gig with Naughty America, marking the beginning of a more stable chapter in my career.
